Surprise kisses can be wonderful, wonderful things ;) The issue with the Kurtofsky kiss was not that it was a surprise, although I suppose there would have been no problem if it hadn’t been. It was that it was unwanted. Clearly. Whereas I’m willing to argue that given her feelings towards Will, Emma probably didn’t mind this kiss so much, married or not. But if you’re able to argue that she DID NOT want to be kissed, then yes, I’ll agree with you on it being sexual assault. But with Kurtofsky, how did Karofsky know that it was “unwanted” until after he did it? It was him finally going for it, just like Will, just like Rachel, just like every other surprise kiss, it just happens for him that his feelings weren’t reciprocated, but he didn’t know that was the case until after he kissed Kurt, he clearly though Kurt would harbor the same passion or at least realize Karofsky’s own. He’s three times the size as Kurt and when he went back in for a second kiss, he allowed Kurt to move away. If he were truly sexually assaulting Kurt, he would have held him down and done whatever the hell he wanted. But he wasn’t trying to force himself on Kurt, he was trying to show him how he truly felt. He wanted to kiss him so he did. Kurt didn’t want to kiss him back so Karofsky allowed him to walk away. Um, I’m going to say that it was pretty damn clear that Kurt was not interested prior to the kiss. Here’s a rundown of the scene, in case you’ve forgotten: Kurt is looking at a text when Karofsky smashes him into a locker, looks at him threateningly, and Kurt sits against the locker looking terrified and upset. Getting angry, Kurt chases Karofsky down, at which point Karofsky throws out a rude comment about Kurt’s (and apparently his own) sexuality. Kurt gets pissed, and begins yelling.  Exactly 19 seconds before Karofsky kisses Kurt, Kurt explicitly says “You’re not my type”. They argue about this remark, Karofsky pulls a fist in a threatening manner, and then kisses Kurt. Now, I ask you, does any of that give the impression that Kurt is in any way wanting the kiss? Karofsky would have to be pretty fucking stupid to think that Kurt wanted to be kissed, especially after stating his views on Karofsky very clearly. Therefore, sexual assault. If there was any way that Karofsky could not have known that Kurt wasn’t interested, I may have thought you’re logic actually made sense, even if I disagreed with it. But come on. He actually stated exactly how he felt mere seconds before Karofsky decided to kiss him. The feelings weren’t reciprocated, but, again, how would Karofsky ever know that if he didn’t go for it. He didn’t hold Kurt down and have his way with him, he kissed him, to try and show how he felt and hoped that he would return those feelings and he looked devastated when Kurt didn’t. Karofsky didn’t know how to deal with his feelings, so he bullied Kurt so no one would ever even dare suggest that there was something there, but then when Kurt finally confronted him, he broke down, put all his cards on the table and kissed him. Emma told Will she was seeing someone and was happy, he grabbed her and kissed her, hoping to change her mind and make her understand his feelings for her. Karofsky did the same thing, the only difference is that he had been so uncomfortable with those feelings for Kurt before that, that he acted out in all the wrong ways. I’m not condoning any of his bullying or what he did after he kissed Kurt, but he was a scared boy with feelings for someone. He kissed Kurt to show him how he really felt and was rejected and then he put his walls back up and doubled his attack in order to try and keep Kurt quiet. I just think people are too quick to throw sexual assault around in this situation when any other grand romantic gesture would not be seen that way. Not that it was all that of a grand romantic gesture, but I think judging by Karofsky’s face before he went in for another kiss, he clearly meant it to be one. And when it didn’t work, he let itty bitty Kurt push him away and he left. Karofsky’s behavior, even as a scared closet case, isn’t totally excusable, he’s been an asshole since we’ve met him, but I don’t think he was sexually assaulting Kurt. I think he was kissing him. As teenagers often do. I think he let Kurt push him away when the sentiment was clearly not returned and fell deeper into the closet. Agreed with everything msalannarae has said.

And then he didn’t use protection after she asked. Sorry, but that’s pretty unforgivable. She had been drinking and that was her first time and he kept pushing her after she said no. He didn’t rape her, but he pushed himself on her and then didn’t have the decency to put on a condom. She didn’t believe in contraception… She didn’t want to be inform. It was both of their faults the way I see things. One person cannot be doing all the work. Beside Quinn has moved on. Made it look like last year never happen. What do you mean she didn’t believe in it? She ASKED him about it when they were about to do it and he said “Trust me” which would mean that he has it under control. It’s not about one person doing all the work, she was a virgin and asked him about protection and he said he had it covered and clearly didn’t. She only put on a “contraception is unmentionable” front in the Celibacy Club because the club was supposed to promote abstinence only, but that didn’t stop her from asking him to use it while they had sex. Can’t we agree to disagree? Quinn could have stopped if she want to… But hey not all girls have the same self-control. Because I know if we me and he said “trust me” the first time? I would have said “no”. But then again that really is me. No rubber, no go. But really it still brought them Beth… Remember their little girl? Beth didn’t ruin anyone life.  Babies do not mean someone’s life is ruined.  I’m not disagreeing that Quinn didn’t have a part in the actual act of having sex, I’m saying that she asked him to use protection and he didn’t and it led to her getting pregnant, getting kicked out of her house, and having a generally rougher time in high school than what most people go through. How is Quinn doing now? Really? The current timeline indicate that Quinn is doing more than ok. So she had a really bad year, that’s life. It’ll try to kick you when your down, but you keep fighting back. I don’t remember where that’s from.  I’ve seen girls struggle who are pregnant, and believe me Quinn had it easier… But Quinn was never alone. She lived Finn’s, Puck offer to take care of her AND the baby then gave her a place to crash even when his mother probably hated her. Mercedes lent her a hand when she couldn’t deal. Even Rachel offered her friendship. She had people around her, she simply chose to deal with it by herself. TVShow!Quinn is fine. So? That doesn’t change the fact that he lied to her about using protection and it resulted in her getting pregnant and he’s never once shown to be the least bit apologetic about it, not even while she was pregnant. Just because she had it easier than some doesn’t mean that what he did wasn’t hard for her to deal with, and you can’t blame her character for poor follow up writing on the situation.
